Love

First post of the new year! Well not too much has changed since I last blogged but one new thing for everyone (not just me) is the start of a brand new year. I am anticipating this year will be a good one. God has blessed me with so many wonderful things.

If you have read my profile you know I am working my way through school, if you haven't read my profile you now know. ;) I started my semester just recently and I am doing pretty well. One thing I am having problems with though is the way some of my fellow classmates interact with each other. I would have thought that by now they would have learned that to get respect you have to give it. I understand not being so fond of certain people but if you just show some love towards them maybe they will let up a bit. God wants us to love one another not hate. This year my new year's resolution is to be more compassionate and to show more love. I wasn't put on this Earth to have the best come-backs or to be the most popular. I was put on this Earth so that I could spread the love that Jesus Christ shows me everyday. I think writing my resolution in this blog will keep me more accountable. Thanks everyone!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . .And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - excerpts from 1 Corinthians 13:4-13

Guys

Is it possible that all the teenage guys in this world are immature? I am not really sure where to start with this subject, there is just so much to say. There are of course great Christian guys in youth group and things like that but there is a secret law that states dating in your youth group is a huge "no,no." Some people don't know but if you end up dating someone from your youth group and then breaking up you have to live in an awkward state because you will see that person at every church function. It is the inevitable that you will crush on someone from your youth group but you should have boundaries with that relationship.

Anyways at the moment I am on "hottie watch." Some may ask "what is this hottie watch?" Well hottie watch is when you are currently single but you are on the look-out for a boyfriend. Most girls on hottie watch are on hottie watch for quite a while but some girls end up snagging a guy right away it just depends. When on hottie watch you can't be desperate, girls have to have high standards. For example, don't settle for some guy because he is cute you should choose a guy who is respectable, kind, and honest. I can't stand guys who smoke or do drugs. Partying is not something I am into either.

Ahh well it is time to unpack from my holiday adventure. This break is going by fast. It is a gorgeous day out and I can't wait to play some basketball! God's creation is awesome, Golly!

Excess

I don't want to be that obsessive blogger and blog multiple times a day but I just have something to say. Is it just me or did other people read that article about the new case of TB? There is so much sickness in the world. I really do hope this doesn't infect more people.

On a completely different note, I would like to get some anger out that has been built up. I know I am a Christian and I shouldn't yell in someones face and this is why I am blogging about it. I have met thousands upon thousands of people in my life and I haven't even reached an age close to the end of my years yet. Among these thousands of people I have met people who are so wound around money its not even funny. Money really isn't that center of life, although for some it is. Everyone wants nice things but is it really necessary to spend a couple of hundred dollars on one meal? There are entire villages who could be fed with a couple of hundred dollars! What is it with the wealthy and their 11,000 square foot houses that they only live in between the months of May and August? It isn't ethical that we are teaching the children of the future that its okay to have a house on each continent and spending money on cars that are only driven once a year is the norm for people who have large salaries. Can't people be happy with a one house and one car per person? Golly!

Hard to be a Christian

In this day and age it is really hard to be a Christian woman. I named my blog Sunny with a Constant Rain Cloud because Christianity to me is sunny and beautiful. The constant rain cloud, that is the hardships that come with being a Christian.
There are so many things in this world that are so "dirty." I mean it seems like all the good movies these days have some sort of inappropriate scene and the songs with the awesome beats are really degrading women. What happened with the innocence portrayed in TV shows like I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver? These shows were both funny and wholesome. Hallmark tries to provide us TV watchers with some appropriate TV but half the things that come on that channel are boring and cheesy. What do people do if they don't want to watch shows where everyone is sleeping with someone or doing drugs but they don't want to watch Disney Channel? Can't there be something in the middle? I'm not going to lie I love Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, and Golden Girls (the three G's I call them.) I know call me a hypocrite but what else am I supposed to do, watch Hannah Montana and try not to gouge my eyes out? Golly!
